Well,

Brother Walt Disney is/was the ultimate authority on Mickey Mouse, and Walt drew a series of MM Cartoons in the 1920's or maybe early 30's where Mickey and his pals formed Barnyard (!!) Chapter, Order of DeMolay!!

Further Mickey is wearing a 1920's style (but VERY LARGE, or maybe he was just a small mouse then) DeMolay Pin in an original Walt Disney drawing given to Dad Land, and on display at DI Headquarters in Kansas City (been there, seen that.)

So the EVIDENCE, plus Walt's statements that 'DeMolay was the only organization he ever let Mickey join', certainly point to Brother Mouse being "one of US". Presumably Bro. Mouse got his degrees in Mother Chapter, where Walt himself was a member.

Fraternally,

Dale

It is very interesting...

So, Bro Walt Disney that already was a DeMolay and representing Mickey Mouse was "Initiated" in the Mother Chapter as a present for Dad Land... but they criated a Chapter with the name Barnyard just for the cartoons...

Is it?

But, I don´t understand one thing...

Mother Chapter was in Missouri, isn´t it?

Why Barnyard Chapter was Created as a Chapter from Pennsylvania?

In this WebSite Is there some text about Mickey Mouse? If yes, I din´t found it... and where could it be?

Thinking better...

The website that I put in the begining of this topic is from Pennsylvania but there is nothing that say that the Barnyard Chapter was in Pennsylvania... so, It could be from Missouri

Well... Is there a Date/Day to commemorates Mickey Mouse´s Initiation?

Its a little late, but being ISC is in Orlando this year, they should have inducted Mickey into the Hall of Fame in a publicity stunt.

An other interesting thing is that the colors that were used in the Mickey Mouse are the same colors of the DeMolay Robes... (black,red,yellow)...

Hello Guys,
I just made the trip to DeMolay International a week ago Friday. I have several photos that I took while there. One of which is the wall that shows the information on Mickey Mouse. If you would like to see it or others leave me your email address and I will send them to you. My Son & I traveled from East Liverpool Ohio to Kansas City, Over 800 miles just to see the stained glass window and Dad Lands Office. We loved the trip!

BTW, what is the Chapter in East Liverpoole?

My wife grew up in Chester, WVa, across the bridge from "y'all".

Did everyones photos come out ok? Also there is no chapter currently in East Liverpool. We are trying to start one. We have Masonic Support and 4 young men who are currently members of Youngstown Chapter. Its a 60 mile round trip every meeting. I belonged to George T. Wilson Chapter in the early 80's. Years ago Harding Chapter was in East Liverpool. Was your wife a Jobe or Rainbow? The Rainbow had a chapter in Chester. The jobes still meet in East Liverpool.

Tom,

No, my wife didn't come from a Masonic family, and no one ever recruited her for Rainbow, apparently.

She says her father had been talking to some of his friends about becoming a Mason, but then he had a heart attack and open heart surgery (new in the late 60's), and after having metal clamps put in his chest, they had to move to Florida. (He passed away about nine months later, after I had started dating her).

According to her, the Builders used to have a chapter (if that is the right term) in Chester, which was, and still is, a competing Masonic Youth Group for young men.

We met after her family moved to Florida, while I was still an Active, and she attended one of our State Conclaves, as "traveling companion" to our Chapter Sweetheart.

Our son was active in DeMolay from 13-21, and he served as SJC his last full year. He also retired as the 3-time State Champion of the Flower Talk (pardon a father's pride).

Oh yes, my copies of the photos came out fine. Thanks.

Bro. Tom,

Fraternal Greetings!

It was a good thing that you visited DI.. as an active DeMolay fast approaching the noon time of my life.. it is my dream that as least for once i can go there and see the beauty of our history and undying heritage but sad thing is.. i am too far from there and also financially uncapable Smile nevertheless, maybe some time in the future if i have enough money il go there but my greatest dream in my life is that on our 100th (Centennial) Anniversary, at exactly March 18, 2019, i must be in France where Jacques DeMolay was burned. I think if im on that place i can feel what happened there by just picturing out in my mind the events that occured there 700 years ago...

Anyway, since I am too far from there for me to see whats inside DI and take pictures.. can you also send me the copy of your pictures from DI? send me a private messageSmile i love to see them Smile Thanks bro!

Fraternally,
Bro. Jonathan R. Filoteo, PMC
Incoming Master Councilor (Re-elected for term 2005B)
Lapu-Lapu Chapter
Order of DeMolay

Don't walk in front of me I may not
follow, don't walk behind me I may not
lead, just walk beside me and be my
brother. In all the good times and even the bad,
in the best damn times we ever had. In
all the laughters and the cheers
through all the doubts and even tears.
In all the fun as well as pain,
DeMolay will always reign!

Hello Bro.

Fraternal greetings,

I'm very happy to know that we belong to the same Chapter. In what year where you initiated into Mt. Asog Chapter? I'm Emman James H. Gonowon, PMC of Mt. Asog Chapter and currently the Master Councilor of Jose Abad Santos , the Mother Chapter in the Philippines. Would you please contact me privately ASAP. Thanks!

P.S. Please include your full name. Thanks again!

Mickey Mouse wearing an old style DeMolay emblem was actually used several times over the past 20 years. When I went to LTC in 1989 or 1990 one of the two shirts we received that weed hid DeMolay Mickey on it.

As few years back DeMoly did used that Mickey when it was in Orlando for ISC and the Walt Disnay Corp had a fit because we were using their licensed image. It is my understanding that they show them the Disney portrait and they basically told DeMolay Internation that because we did not have anything in writing from Walt Disney statring that we could reprint the image we were in hot water.

It is my understanding that Roy Disney, Walt Disney's brother, stepped in and made the peace between DeMolay and Walt Disney Corp. In short it is a great image to have, but we cannot use it.
