One of the things I dislike are Senior DeMolays trying to re-live the glory days, so as the people who lead this organization do you think your advsiors should:

Choices:
Post regularly
Post infrequently
Don’t post at all just monitor, this is for the guys

 

My Brothers-

Advisors, and Senior DeMolays alike, should be able to post whenever they would like to; just like anyone here as this is an open forum.

Senior DeMolays and Advisors are most likely not trying to "re-live the glory days", as you have put it. We (speaking as a Senior DeMolay/Chapter DAD) are merely attempting to guide the active members as much as possible so that the organization can thrive.

I see not how posting, regularly or not, is a Senior DeMolay trying to re-live glory days. As for re-living, do you mean reminiscing or do you mean somehow manipulating the course of a Chapter or Jurisdiction through some Jedi mind trick? I see the post as a valuable source of information to be used by Active and Senior DeMolays, Advisors, parents, brothers, sisters, etc. This is a public forum. That's my brief two cents. As the poll is geared toward Active DeMolays, I have not, will not vote.

I think they should be allowed to post. Not only is there really nothing we can do to stop it, but if given the chance, I wouldn't put a stop to it.

Imagine if Dad Dietzman hadn't been allowed to post. I've learned a lot of things by going back and reading some of the archives and he was there a lot of the time. The same with many others.

They provide wisdom, and can even give small challenges without realizing it. Just like if you were talking to an advisor right in front of you.

Let them stay. It's their right.

Since this topic is over two years old, I wonder if you still feel the same way.

Peter, do you? Were you trying to say that you and your active brethren "lead this organization"? I thought it was a marriage of both sides to make it work.

Did you think, that I spent my "glory days" in DeMolay? If so, then we have failed you as mentors.

My best glory day was yesterday and tomorrow it will be today. I took the lessons of DeMolay to my heart, now I reap the benefit every day and every day is better than the last, brother.

Some topics are better off staying buried.
