There is the option given in either the ritual or the monitor to sing a chapter ode. Does anybody do this? My chapter decided to write an ode. I'll post it when I'm done.

That's awesome! I've never heard a chapter ode before.

I'd write one, but nothing really rhymes with "Point Pleasant Beach Chapter"!

This is an old carry over from earlier versions of the ritual and was for the singing of the National Anthem. The opening (not Chapter) ode is done right after the flag is presented at the Altar and the Pledge of Allegiance.

god willing, the ode i wrote will be used for the first time tomorrow. yay for brookfield chapter.

Could we sub. in the national anthem as our ode instead of making our own beacuse nothing really rhymes with excelsior

The optional "Opening Ode" in the Ritual is SUPPOSED to be the National Anthem.

Of course, the EO can authorize using something else, but you would need his blessing before changing the Ritual, even the optional parts.
