I am still a bit conservative about it (old fashion)! Hehehe… I still prefer to have my own hardcopy of the Ritual (by purchasing it in the Supreme Council or by having it a gift or lend from a Senior/Dad Advisor) --- to read, understand and memorize each and every word in it, visualizing the floorworks and especially learning Ritual with my Seniors…

I think that is one the best experience in the Ritual Works (besides actually performing it with the Bros), is to have the bonding with the Senior members by teaching us the do’s and don’ts, tips and tricks, and to know what’s happening during their time, etc…

With regards making it available in CD format, it will not only making the same mistake again (making it easily available in the Net), but will encourage anyone to photocopy it, scan it or the like… I remember, a Senior DeMolay told me that there should be no altering contents and unauthorized reproduction of the Ritual….Only the Supreme Council has the authority to have such softcopies in CD’s (1 maybe locked in the SCOD safety box, another copy to the Grand Sec, etc...) and it should not be saved in the Office PC which can be easily copied and send out in the Net. In which I agree with that Brother, there will be strong security over the Ritual Works and we will know who are the people responsible of its safekeeping. Its just my opinion Brethren.

Let us not be so paranoid. We are now in the computer age. Mere listening to a CD or watching a DVD, will not make one a real DeMolay.

I totally agree with bro. Ilad, by the way regards bro. how are u?
I don’t want to see people looking at our own DeMOLAY degrees as an entertainment; I have been keeping it in my heart as a foundation of our fraternity to be kept secret. I also agree to use the web to distribute other paraphernalia’s (e.g. flower talk, installation of officers and other public ritual that we have) even supreme council communication to all chapters it will be much better to see it via the e-net. But again, to see our own floor works and other secrets via net, I am not into it. Where is the secrecy there? Because correct me if I am wrong, where is the oath, bond and seal we had been doing throughout the years? Since the publication of the ritual it had been the insignia that inspire many DeMOLAY from past to present. Filipino brods are not being paranoid with it referring to you pinoynabrodako, we are just born to be more enticed and emotional in what we have. Kung ako lang masusunod! Di ako papayag sa lantarang pagbubunyag na ginagawa ng mga taga ibang bansa. Old fashion man sa patingin ng iba at traditional. Pero bilang Pilipino and a DeMOLAY. I am molded to respect the Order and the supreme council. The supreme council should the only one to re-publish the ritual as its copyright. And as I can see, the supreme is doing its best to promulgate the every need of different chapters here in the Philippines. We can share it to a person who wants to be a member of the Order, but showing our secrets to the web and to the world, I find it moving because it shouldn’t be secret anymore. It should be a public initiatory and demolay degree for now on. Then as I can see it, the original members and demolay’s from the past who are keeping it secret where doing it wrongfully? Just a thought, feel free to shed light!

Do you know that in the United States, DeMolays perform the DeMolay Degree in the presence of the PARENTS of the petitioners, meaning the FATHER or MOTHER or both?

I know that bro; they have the move to make the demolay degree to be public, but only the part showing the martyrdom of our namesake Jacques DeMolay (the trial and burning at the stake) correct me if I’m wrong. Not the whole ritual including both degrees and secret works. Why on earth does our ritual still have it in context the words “ritual and secret works of the Order of Demolay”? Just a thought it won’t be secret anymore, I am just reacting to the issue regarding ritual being readily available via net and CD. Simple negligence revealing our secrets may occur and I am not still into it. I feel much better knowing that the secrets that I once knew, being kept secret. I feel proud to have a secret ritual in the order; there are a lot of public things that we can show. But for me keeping the secrets is a big deal. And I still want the copyright being respected e.g. only the supreme council is authorized to reproduce the ritual. Still feel free to shed light to my comments.

I think I prefer the proactive approach of telling what is the dos and donts. Though we may accept the inevitable, we still have the reponsibility to do so...

I disagree to what u say that we cannot control it. I agree to what bro Ilad just said being proactive, to personally being represented by the virtues and allegory of our ritual. I will still embrace the traditional means of representing the ritual in its ritualistic form, it contemplates the essence of brotherhood. not just seeing it via cd!

san nga pala chapter mo? pakisagot lang at alam mo naman dito sa pinas daming frat na gustong makuha secrets ng demolay, di tulad sa ibang bansa mas sober ang ways nila coz medyo barbaric mga greek and college frat dito satin.
