As one chapter of life closes today, one more opens!
Today is the end of my employment as a Staff Attorney for the Family Court. Tomorrow, I will be a budding new Associate Attorney practicing Family Law; Elder Law; Wills, Trusts & Estates; and General Civil Litigation. I have several cases already on my desk, which the Senior partner has set for me to handle. And I have potentially 4 clients that I am bringing into the firm! It is going to be interesting going from salary work, to maintaining a certain amount of "billable" hours every week! My goal is to practice law for the next...ummm...6 to 8 years, and then run for a bench. Kevin D. Gailfoil, Esq. I knew Bro. Hart was from KY, but unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to make his acquaintance. Moreover, due to my work schedule with the court, and responsibilities with my church, I have not had the opportunity to attend any DeMolay functions like I had wanted! Additionally, with today being my first day in the new office...all I can say...is OH BOY!! It is a little overwhelming what I have walked into, BUT it is going to be a great challenge and a great opportunity for my career! just estimating...my current case load...the ability to get caught up on all the legal issues, and prepare "several" of them for up coming trials within the next few weeks...I'd say I will be working 7 days a weeks for a while!
