Hello everyone!! I just found this forum, and I want to come see who lurks here!!!

I was a DeMolay of the 80's.... back when Pinellas County Florida had several chapters.

I enjoyed my time as a DeMolay, and learned many things that have helped me on my way in life. I recently retired as a Deputy Sheriff, and I believe DeMolay helped keep me on the straight and narrow during my younger years.

I have a 1 year old son, and I plan on making the 7 cardinal virtues the ground work of his new life. He will grow up learning about....

1. Filial Love
2. Reverence for Sacred Things
3. Courtesy
4. Comradship
5. Fidelity
6. Cleanliness
and
7. Patriotism

I may get older, but I will never forget my cardinal virtues.

Welcome to the forum! I am also a product of Florida DeMolay in the 80's. My chapter started in 1986.

ALthough I have been blessed with two beautiful girls, the virtues of DeMolay will be a part of my teachings to them. For as parents it is our responsibility to raise children of good moral character!

I also noticed that you are just a few miles to the South of me! We should try to get together some day!

Me too a product from the Florida DeMolay in the 80's as well. I am from the Old Gainesville Chapter in Gainesville, Florida. I am not to far from both of you I live in Roanoke, VA now.

I am in the process of waiting to hear back from the Chapter in Roanoke as we speak as my 13 year old boy has said that he to would like to become a DeMolay. Man I will tell you, it was like hearing the Flower Talk for the first time all over again.

Andy when your son say the words to you, you will melt like a ice cube on a sunnie day on a black top road in Florida. Man I will tell you I started to cry and I am a 40 year old man. It was the blessing I never knew. Now I get to teach him our 7 virtues and I hope that the Chapter here will let me one last time for his sake be the Master Councilor as I feel that would be everything to me and something for him to see that his dad did do it a long time ago. And you guy that know how we did it back in the day I will doing from memory not from the book.
