It seems to me that I saw a form somewhere regarding the proper request needed in order to obtain 501(c)(3) status for chapters of DeMolay. We have opportunity for matching funds from an employer, however we must provide our 501(c)(3) identification #.
Anyone recall the form needed to do this correctly? THANKS West Bend WI - Mom Storrs This message has been edited. Last edited by: Field Representative, |

Mom Storrs,
You have to apply for tax exempt status / Employee Indentification Number (EIN) with the IRS. Then you file your number with DeMolay International where we keep it on file and renew it for you each year. Nick Walker Field Representative DeMolay International 1-800-DeMolay |

Yeah, the Service and Leadership Center does a great job with this and working with you through the process.

I believe the number you seek is called an Employer Identification number (EIN) Established chapters should already have one.
New chapters can apply for a "EIN" at the following link; http://www.federalpapers.com/index-fp.php?s=GOOGLE&gcli...HQ&f=www.gov-tax.com |
